Terms and
Conditions.

These terms govern your use of the Cannelle software. By downloading, installing, or running Cannelle you agree to be bound by them.

Licence

Cannelle is released under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL 1.1). The full licence text is available in the LICENSE file in the repository and governs all use of the software.

// key points of bsl 1.1

Source available: The full source code is publicly accessible. You may read, fork, and modify it.

Production use: You may run Cannelle in production for your own internal business operations free of charge. Reselling or offering Cannelle as a hosted service to third parties requires a commercial licence from Silverink Consulting BV.

Change Date: Four years after each version's release date, that version's licence converts to the Apache License 2.0, making it fully open source.

Installation and Use

Cannelle is self-hosted software. By installing it you accept full responsibility for your deployment, including:

Provisioning and maintaining the infrastructure on which Cannelle runs
Keeping the software up to date by applying releases and patches at your discretion
Securing your environment — network, database, SMTP credentials, and secret keys
Taking regular backups of your database and uploaded files
Ensuring your use complies with applicable local laws and regulations

We provide installation documentation and Docker images as a convenience. Managed hosting, monitoring, and operational support are not available under the Community Edition — these are offered exclusively to users of the Premium and Custom editions.

Intellectual Property

All rights to the Cannelle source code are retained by Silverink Consulting BV, except where third-party components are included under their own licences as stated in the repository.

The Cannelle name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Silverink Consulting BV. You may not use them in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation without prior written permission.

Contributions submitted to the repository are accepted under the terms of the Contributor Licence Agreement (CLA) included in the repository.
